Chamber Business Breakfasts - What to Expect
If you've never been to one of our Business Breakfasts before, you might be wondering what you're actually signing up for. The good news is that there's nothing to be nervous about. Here's a straightforward guide to what the morning looks like.
Where and when
Our Business Breakfasts are held monthly at venues across East Renfrewshire. We like to mix up the locations so that members get to experience different local businesses and the events feel fresh. All breakfasts finish by 11am, so they're a nice way to start the day before heading into the office or on to your next commitment.
Who comes along
The mix of attendees varies from month to month, but you'll generally find a range of local business owners, sole traders and professionals from different sectors. Some are long-standing Chamber members, others are attending for the first time. There's no particular type of business that does or doesn't belong: if you have a business interest in East Renfrewshire, you're welcome.
What actually happens
The format is relaxed. You'll have the chance to eat, chat and introduce yourself to the people around you. There's no formal agenda that requires you to stand up and deliver a rehearsed pitch, and there's no pressure to work the room if that's not your style. The goal is simply to meet people, have good conversations and leave with a few new connections.
Do I need to be a member to attend?
No. Our Business Breakfasts are open to non-members as well, which makes them a great way to get a feel for the Chamber before committing to membership. Members attend free or at a preferential rate, so if you find yourself coming along regularly, membership starts to look like good value pretty quickly.
What should I bring?
Business cards are always useful if you have them, though plenty of people swap details on their phones these days. The main thing to bring is a willingness to have a conversation: that's really all it takes.
How do I book?
You can book your place at eastrenchamber.org.uk. We'd recommend booking in advance as spaces can fill up, and it helps us with catering arrangements.
Whether you're a seasoned networker or this would be your first event of this kind, you'll be made very welcome. We hope to see you at the next one.
